Orynge Films is an independent film production company founded by Steven Maes (Fenix) in 2005.
Steven “Fenix” Maes is an award-winning graphic designer and art director primarily associated with the film and television industry in New Mexico.
Role: In his work, Maes specializes in creating “graphics that will sell the reality of a real world,” designing everything from signs to props to help build the setting for a film or show.
Career: He has worked on high-profile productions, including the TV series Breaking Bad and the Academy Award-nominated film In the Valley of Elah. He was also part of the Art Director’s Guild (ADG) nominated team for projects like The Lost Room.
Director: Maes is the writer and director of the award-winning documentary Caffeine & Gasoline: Evolution of the American Rocker, a film produced primarily in New Mexico.
Background: He is a graduate of the University of New Mexico’s Media Arts program.
